Question by juicy13500: Gift Notion? Hurricane Baskets?
okay people- gimme some suggestions…My family members is largely positioned on the Gulf Coast, and seems to keep acquiring hit by hurricanes, power outages, tornados, and so on.
What would you use as a “basket” and what would you put in it?

I was thinking a clothes basket with issues like a small radio, batteries, pop-top cans of food, juice, flashlights, bottles of water, granola bars, cheese/ crackers, etc…

All you yankees- think days without having energy in a snowstorm, except hot and wet outside! :)

Gimme some other ideas!
okay- I consider they are quite familiar with all the needed stuff- They have had a lot of news reports to inform them that. I am speaking about “creature comforts”.

Thanks!

There are six basics you really should stock for your property in the case of an emergency:
water, food, first help supplies, clothes and bedding, tools and emergency supplies, and unique items for medical situations.

Preserve the products that you would most probably will need throughout an evacuation in an straightforward-to carry container. Beneath is a comprehensive list of what should be incorporated in your kit – encouraged products are marked with an asterisk.

Possible containers incorporate a large, covered trash container, a camping backpack or a duffle bag.

It is beautiful, but there were a few cookies that where stale. They immediately sent a care package as compensation. Their service is good and they care about their customers.

More paper than product, January 8, 2011

We received this gift basket…very unimpressed when we opened it…very little product, fancy boxes with tiny amounts made to look big in this basket….the butter cookies were the kind you get at Walgreens in a tin…and they gave you a few in a little box made to look fancy. The almonds were so salty you could not eat them and really nice that they gave you “one” package of hot chocolate makes 8oz…not even two for you and a spouse or friend…not very professional at all. Everything was so stuck together with sticky dots that you couldn’t set anything down or it stuck to something else. Lots of filler in the basket to make it look full….they need to improve their presentation and products. Would not recommend.

I sent these baskets as Father’s Day gifts to my ninety plus father and my eighty plus father-in-law. A generous amount of tasty food was received and enjoyed. This company provides high quality food for somewhat conservative tastebuds at a reasonable price.

Use a tuperware bin. Put all teh basic nesscities and stuuf in. Then if tehres littel kids pack a stuffed animal or something in. They have to leave home of course they want soemthing to keep them comftorblae. Make clothes baskets. Put deodorants and soap and thing. Make sure they have at least one of these bins in there car because when they are escaping they need thestuff ready to go. Also send them down like you said a radio, batteries, crackersm cans of food, wheat thins, juice, flashlight, bottles of waterm granola bars and boxed foods. Dont forget women sanitary pads and soap. If tehre is a baby pack baby wipes, baby food, and diapers. When families are away from they want those home liek thinks put in packs of lipsticks, cd walkmans, makeupkits, a rubix cube or 15 puzzle. . For younger kids like I said put stuffed animals and dressup stuff. Pack a few blankets and pillows. Put an umbrealla and some garbage bags jsut in case they need to take shleter else wehre. Then dont forget plastic utensils, plastic cups, and plastic plates. Just try to make tehm feel at home when tehy need to be protected. If they have a big van make sure each person has space to have there own things. In power outages and things jsut get in one room where they can be together and stuff. Tornadoes and hurricanes you have to leave. If tehy have have vans make sure they have room for there things. Pack in school supplies, and jjourmals, bookbags, pens, marlers, coloring books, pencils, crayons incase they lose osome otehrf tehre own. I hhope this helps and bless your family.

I think that is a great idea, but it sounds like they need a generator and some gasoline.

You could try putting alot of those things in a bucket, like a compound bucket, cleaned out. They could use it to store clean water in. Plus your basics, candles, waterproof matches, tins of suisse mocha, plastic ware. Oh I really don’t know, what else. I guess what you would need to go camping. I still think the generator would be a good idea.
